What is a flow?

A flow is something which connects and displays mutual dependence among all the different kinds of things that exist and live within an environment. A flow when changed can have a sudden effect on the things that reside in the nearby environment.

STARTING PROCESS

We chose to go with the flow of water and a design a structure which would be accessible to people so they could experience the flow of water on different terrains and during the high and low tides.

3D AND PLAN

SECTIONS

The 4 sections above are detailed and display a basic idea of what it is and the materials as well. The structure is made by ramming soil in ground along with small stones and then covered with PCC before placing finished cut basalt plates over it. The dark shaded part on the left hand side of the sections are the deck we made to enable people to go further into the mangroves which are usually hard to explore due to muddy/marshy ground, enabling them to sit, gather and  experience the mangroves and it's vegetation. It's made of oak and uses steel pipes as pile foundation.

Wooden Deck

We kept openings in between to let the mangrove tree grow without disturbing or having to cut them down. Also so that people can interact more with nature.
